Advantages of a Sequoia Side Ladder for your campervan
A side ladder on your Mercedes Sprinter offers easy and stable access to your roof (rack), making it ideal for loading gear like canoes or SUPs, especially when the rear Cargo Ladder is fully mounted with other gear and equipment.
To keep shipping costs reasonable, the 240cm side ladder is designed to be split into two 120cm sections.
The steps are comfortable to climb, with a hole pattern that provides extra grip. The steps also extend further outward than the side tubes, reducing the chance of hitting your feet on the van. Moreover, positioning the tubes closer to the vehicle than the steps minimizes the overall protrusion of the side ladder.
The ladder maintains a distance of around 10 centimeters from the van at the top and bottom, and about 12 centimeters in the middle. The bottom is angled inward for better ground clearance, and the entire ladder stays within the side-view mirror’s range.
Sequoia Side Ladder installation requirements
Standard adapters for mounting the Side Ladder on the Sequoia Basecamp and Camp 2 roof racks are included. However, the top mounting points are universal, allowing installation on other roof racks or with a custom bracket directly on roof rails.
The Side Ladder fits on The Mercedes Sprinter W906, W907 and W910, models with an H2 (high roof) and fits on L2, L3, and L4 wheelbases (read more about the different lengths here). By default, it cannot be mounted behind the wheel arch.
In general, the Side Ladder works with most flares.
The Side Ladder can be fitted on a factory Sprinter Campervan; however, many factory models have an external access door for the toilet on the side of the van. If you don’t use the toilet, you can mount the ladder, but if you ever need to empty it, the ladder will block the access to the outside door.
The Side Ladder goes together with the Sequoia Side Steps L2 and L3 with the Sequoia Side Steps Sprinter Side Ladder Adapter.
