explaining the size indications of the Volkswagen/MAN 2017+: A Guide to the names of their types/sizes

In 2017, Volkswagen, in cooperation with MAN, launched a new van and introduced different names to indicate the lengths and heights of these vans. Although the chassis heights and lengths are very similar to those used before 2017, the new naming system can be a bit confusing.

To clarify, let us walk you through the sizes, their new names, and how to recognize them.

Sames sizes, different names:

With the Volkswagen/Man cooperation in 2017 a new van was launched, but the chassis sizes almost stayed the same. Nevertheless they chose to rename these size indications. For example the most common length of the Mercedes Sprinter was and is the L2H2, Volkswagen/Man calls this the L3H3. And where Mercedes uses L3H2, Volkswagen/MAN called this L4H3. The L4H3 is L5H4 and L2H1 is L3H2.

To learn about the sizes of the Mercedes Sprinter read the article: Exploring the versatility of the Mercedes Sprinter van: a guide to different lengths and heights.

Volkwagen Crafter / Man TGE lengths explained
